After completing his personal training certification, Ryan began working in a gym setting with a wide array of personal training clients, while teaching boot camp and circuit training classes. He also served as Fitness Manager, taking responsibility for the personal training department and leading a team of trainers.
Ryan’s experience in the gym taught him that there was a great need for those wanted to get in shape and improve their health, but were intimidated by most fitness facilities and the gym culture. He then began a mobile personal training business in 2016 under the name Camp Victory, where his passion for fitness began. Eventually, his desire to teach and build a community moved him to open a studio two years later.
Camp Victory’s brick and mortar location was only finishing out the second year of serving the Bend, Oregon community when the global pandemic put an end to operations. In those two years Camp Victory offered affordable group and personal training, scholarship programs, as well as a number of other free and low-cost programs for individuals and families. Ryan is most proud of having lead over 50 hours of free fitness programs for in-patient recovery groups.
The closure of the studio and the pandemic became catalysts for Ryan and his Wife, Stephanie to move closer to their family in Louisville, KY. The couple found Roanoke, VA to be the perfect fit for maintaining an active, outdoor lifestyle, while sharing more time with family.
When Ryan and his Wife Stephanie purchased a home built in 1915, they decide to condense Ryan’s previous studio into areas of the home. Camp Victory Personal Training is now a boutique personal training studio, in Roanoke’s Old Southwest Historic District. Ryan and Stephanie welcome you to come see if Camp Victory is the right fit to help you achieve not only your fitness goals, but strive for overall health and wellness.
